Well the old adage of “An apple a day keeps the doctor away” can be literally transposed to Apple cider vinegar!
Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is rich in potassium and other associated trace minerals. As per Bartram “what calcium is to bone so is potassium to the soft tissue”.
Some benefits: ACV has alkaline properties which aids the body in maintaining pH levels for a healthy alkaline environment. It can help regulate blood pressure, reduce bad cholesterol, remove toxins from the body and can improve bowel issues. It is also high in malic acid, which gives ACV its anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties and in turn is helpful for destroying harmful bacteria in the digestive tract, maintaining good health 1.
Actions: Detoxifier, antiseptic, anti-catarrhal, bitter, stomachic, antimicrobial 1.
Some uses: Staphylococcal and streptococcal infection, high blood pressure, dizziness, overweight, chronic headache, chronic fatigue, diarrhoea, mucous colitis, diverticulitis, nausea, vomiting 1.
Dosage: It is an acquired taste, so I recommend 1-2 teaspoons to a glass of water (filtered or distilled) and to help make it more palatable, 1 to 2 tsp of manuka or organic honey (optional), each day in the morning upon rising 1. I also use ACV as a vinegerette for my salads, replacing other processed salad dressings.
